Happy Independence Day!

I will be updating this blog more frequently, so stay tuned. In the mean time, enjoy the barbecues, fireworks, and parades, but take a moment to think back on what it means to be truly independent.

Independence is not a destination; it is a fight. You don’t brush your teeth one morning and consider your teeth clean forever; they are constantly creeping towards being unclean again. So is our fight for independence. Every day, forces of dependence creep into our lives, and we must fight them off.

Do you blame entities (people, political parties, corporations, etc.) for your current happiness? If you are, you may need to explore that and see if there is something there to sort out. Other people are never, ever, in charge of your happiness; it is you that chooses to be happy or not. By blaming someone else, you get to be a victim, and are off the hook for creating your own happiness; you are dependent on someone else for your happiness.

Let’s continue what was started 239 years ago and fight for our independence; politically, financially, and internally.

Thank you for reading this post.
